ABOUT REIKI

“Rei” means “spiritual force or intelligence” and “ki” means “life force/energy”. Reiki therefore, is “spiritually guided life force energy intelligence”.

All life forms vibrate with this energy. When one is ill or stressed, the amount of energy being used to sustain health is depleted in the body. Reiki is drawn by the recipient in the amount that is needed. A Reiki healer is one who has been initiated into the high-frequency Reiki energy.

The initiation is also called an attunement. When a person receives an attunement, he or she is able to tap into a limitless divine source of life-force energy. Reiki is channeled as soon as the healer places her hands on herself or someone else. Reiki is safe, simple, and profound in its effects. The healer does not need to know where the healing is needed.

The symbols of reiki, in the western world, consists of 5 high vibrational symbols that help to raise your frequency, when attuned to them. The symbols work on 4 levels of human growth.

The first symbols work closely with the physical/material plain, then as we move up to the next levels, we move into the emotional symbols and the mental symbols, and finally into the energy of the spiritual symbols, which are attuned in the final level of reiki (level III).

Receiving an attunement to Reiki raises the vibration more dramatically. Students often report that “negative” people, thoughts, and events don’t come around as often as before the attunement. The reason for this is that lower frequency (negative) energy cannot co-exist with the higher, finer Reiki energy. Reiki will attract higher energy people, situations and thoughts, and its power is limitless.

A healthy person who receives Reiki will feel relaxed during the treatment, and often energized afterwards. Reiki can be felt as heat, or tingling, and inflamed areas may draw it in with a resulting cool sensation.

Reiki energy will be directed by Higher Power and spirit guides who assist in every healing, with the guides of both the practitioner and recipient combining their efforts. The healer simply channels the energy, and the guides direct and modulate the healing where it is most needed.

Since the healer does not deplete her/his own energy, she does not get tired or sick.Healing can occur in the physical body, and at any or all of the following levels: emotional, mental, and spiritual.

While receiving healing, people can easily fall asleep, leave their body, or just enter into a deep meditative state. Others see (with their psychic sight) spirit guides, angels, or loved ones who have passed on. Sometimes they learn about past lives, or remember early childhood experiences.

Reiki increases the vibratory rate in both the receiver and the healer, and it affects the subtle energy field, or aura. The former lower frequency will not resonate with the new higher one, and so the body will detoxify and release old negative patterns. The receiver is always advised to drink a lot of water to facilitate the flushing of these toxins.

Reiki can help with addictions, fears, and emotional blocks. Dreams may become more vivid, and it is helpful to write them down before they are lost from memory.
